While the jury is still out on Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, there has been a strong buzz about his next venture. The actor was Sourav Ganguly first choice to play the cricketer’s role in his biopic. But there has been no confirmation about the same.
Interestingly, there is a new contender for the same! According to a news portal, Ayushmann Khurrana is in the running to play Sourav Ganguly in a Bollywood film. News18 reported that Ranbir is facing a hitch since he is a right-handed batsman, wherein Ayushmann is ambidextrous when it comes to cricket. Since Ganguly was a left handed player, it seems easier that the one who plays his role is also left-handed.

Sanjay Das, a close friend of Sourav and one of the initiators of this biopic, had told BT, “Nothing about the film is fixed yet. We’ll need at least eight-nine months to decide who will play the lead role. Once everything falls into place, Sourav and the production house will formally announce who will play his character. That Ranbir Kapoor is likely to play Dada is just a rumour, at least at this point.”
